Event Cancelled
We are saddened to announce that Three Rivers Bigbook Weekend V on September 27th-29th will be Canceled this year for the following reasons, including the loss of our co-founder David Millsaps on April 22, of this year....
1. Lack of interest in the event / low registration numbers. We are at less than half of the number of registrations at this time last year.
2. High Cost of Food.
3. High Cost of hotel room rates and convention room cost.
4. Airline Ticket expenses are through the roof.
5. And reimbursement for the high cost of road travel (Gas) for some speakers.
6. Incidental reimbursement cards for all the speakers.
7.High cost of setting up a Hospitality Room
8. And the higher cost of Catered Friday evening dinner for speakers and guests.
We are saddened that it has come to this, but we have really no alternative as we will never be able to meet our financial obligations by the time this event is over. And I'm sure everyone that was thinking of registering but could not was also feeling the financial pressure from the economic instability we are experiencing.
We will start the process of reimbursing everyone's registration cost starting Tomorrow August 10th. So please be patient and remember that the funds will go back to the original source of payment.
